Founders Note 001

We're here. It's happening. What's been a dream on paper since 2017, a collection of notes, journal entries and brainstormed ideas has finally found its form. Welcome to Road Race Report.

This will be one of few entries on this site, at least for the first bit, where you'll find me, Anthony Sansotta, speaking first person. While it won't be typical, it feels right and necessary to share the ethos of this thing from my perspective, as it'll be solely me at the helm at least for the first bit.

First a quick blip about me - I'm a fan. A racer. A story teller. I've been a part of a lot of content you may have consumed over the last 15 years for brands like Red Bull, Polaris Off-Road Vehicles and Indian motorcycle, just to scratch the surface. But I've been eating, sleeping and breathing two wheel motorsports since I could construct sentences and twist a throttle which frankly, was around the same time.

After 15 years of racing as a kid, I've become an accomplished photographer, videographer, journalist and content director, all of which has allowed me unique perspective into the world of motorsports. One thing was always very apparent, compared to all of the variations of motorsports I've been involved in, my beloved favorite - motorcycle road racing, specifically in the US - lacked a content outlet that dove in deep from the content perspective.

Sure there are plenty of media outlets I frequent, reading results, press releases, and musings of the sports media legends. And yeah, the series does a really great job on the content front, but there's just been something missing.

Supercross has PulpMX, Racer X, SwapMotoLive, etc. - no story goes untouched and you can find all the info you could ever want about the sport and its riders.

The goal here is to help solve that problem for road racing. To give fans a peek behind the curtain in the best way possible, by offering this space as a place for riders, brands and the series to tell their stories. Raw, direct and as unfiltered as possible. I aim to just be the quarterback, delivering the stories to you straight from the paddock and the track, my opinion by the wayside.

This sport raised me. The legends that have come before all of us that hold any job or position in this space are just as important as those of us here now. You'll find just as much content with those legends, telling their stories, as you will the current happenings, and we're looking forward to that.

We're not 100% sure where this path will lead, what content will stay or go as we grow and evolve, but we invite all the comments and feedback. This space belongs to all of us. Let's craft it together and make something most of us - there are plenty of outliers that won't get on with it, but we love them too - can enjoy!

What I can promise is honest and direct storytelling, no fluff, no opinion. Expect to be able to come here and find the information delivered fair and equal as we uncover all sides of the story, for you to form your own opinion.

As the late great Nicky Hayden would say…."Let's get it."
