After Indian swept the opening four races of the season, MotoAmerica has given Harley-Davidson a 200-rpm bump in the Mission King of the Baggers class — effective immediately.

MotoAmerica has updated the Mission King of the Baggers technical regulations following the second round of the season at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, raising the maximum rpm limit for Harley-Davidson leaving Indian Motorcycle untouched.

Under Technical Bulletin 02-5000-26, issued April 30, 2026, the Harley-Davidson Road Glide is bumped from a 7,000 rpm ceiling to 7,200 rpm. The Indian Challenger remains at 7,700 rpm.

With the recent change in ownership of Indian Motorcycle came a last minute decision to bring on Vance and Hines to support the factory racing effort, and they've been undefeated so far this season. With that, MotoAmerica has decided a bit of balancing was needed.

The 200-rpm concession is the kind of mid-season balancing lever MotoAmerica has used before in the class — small on paper, but meaningful in a series where straight-line speed and corner-exit drive are decided in the last few hundred revs.

Will the adjustment restore balance in the class? Time will tell as the King of the Baggers returns for Round 3 at Road America in just under a months time, where Harley-Davidson will get its first crack at the new ceiling.
